American Ballet Theater
Project Overview
For the American Ballet Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City, I worked as the set designer for the seasonal advertising campaign photographed by Patrick Fraser. This role involved conceptualizing and creating sets that complemented the themes and aesthetics of the ballet performances. My responsibilities included collaborating closely with the marketing and artistic teams to ensure the sets effectively conveyed the desired artistic vision and promotional message.
The process began with extensive research and brainstorming sessions to develop ideas that would resonate with the audience and enhance the photography. I then moved on to sketching and designing the sets, paying meticulous attention to details such as color schemes, textures, and props that would create a captivating and cohesive visual narrative.
Once the designs were approved, I oversaw the construction and assembly of the sets, working with a team of skilled craftsmen and technicians to bring the vision to life. On the days of the photoshoots, I was present to make any necessary adjustments and to ensure the sets were perfectly aligned with Patrick Fraser's photographic direction.
The result was a series of striking images that not only highlighted the grace and elegance of the American Ballet Theater's dancers but also created a compelling visual identity for the season's advertising campaign. This experience allowed me to blend creativity with technical expertise, contributing to a project that celebrated the artistry and sophistication of one of the world’s premier ballet companies.
